Huey aka Lawrence Franks Jr was 31 years old St. Louis rapper was shot dead, Huey was the best know for his song “Pop, Lock & Drop it. Blanco Tarantino who is a Media personality confirmed his death on Twitter, wrote “STL native Huey, best known for his classic single “Pop Lock & Drop It”, was shot and killed earlier tonight and was expected to shoot a video this Saturday.”

On Thursday night Huey was shot and killed and it happened before 11:00 p.m. in front of a home in the 8100 blocks of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in Kinloch. However, he was rushed to the hospital but due to gunshot wounds, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
In the same shooting, other victims also suffered Gunshot wounds but he was taken to an area hospital and treated for his injuries. He is expected to survive. His fans tributed him on social media and Huey leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter.
Till now, Police have not confirmed or arrested the person who involved in the shooting.
Career
He rose to fame after his hit song “Pop, Lock & Drop It” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 98 in 2007. Furthermore, his video for the track has 50 million views on YouTube. He was previously signed to Jive Records.
